Here it is, Monday, and a countdown is on to finish my taxes. I have two clients breathing down my neck, wanting work done (for which I get paid quite well, I must admit), and I took the time to reflect on how today has gone so far. Well, first off, billable hours are always nice, so that’s a given. But, there were two other things today which made my day. The first thing, of course, was a return to weather nice enough to squeeze in my noon bicycle ride (a little over 15 miles today in record time, I might add!!!). The cows at the dairy farm I ride by all looked up and several mooed “Hi” to me. A red-tailed hawk screeched at me from a tree limb along the path, and several prairie dogs barked as I passed. That was nice, as was the view of Long’s Peak and the Mummy Range. The air was cool and crisp, but not cold, and believe me it was a bit difficult not to add another 15 miles to my ride.
I also had a nice, long phone conversation with a very precious friend of mine (billable hours timer clicks off…). We chatted for a long time about internet marketing, making career changes, family, and many other things. You know, the time flew by, and when we had hung up, I realized this visit over the phone was one of the best parts of my day today. Isn’t that usually the case?
